The Hero Xpulse 200 has always been India’s most affordable adventure bike ever since it came out a couple of years ago, it took over from the Hero Impulse which was an impressive dual-purpose machine, and then Hero made a couple of improvements and the Xpulse was born. Nowadays the Hero Xpulse 200 has grown quite popular amongst budding off-road enthusiasts and with the 4v version, things have gotten far better.

The Hero Xpulse 200 is a Hero’s completely in-house engineering effort down to the frame and the powertrain. In trams of design, Hero Xpulse looks very simple, clean and straightforward dirt bike approach. Starting with the front it has a very purposeful high-mounted mudguard along with high-mounted full LED headlamps and the rear section also looks quite plain and almost commuter-like.

Talking about suspension, the front hero Xpulse has a 37mm telescopic suspension with an anti-friction bush which has a travel of 190mm while at the rear it has a 10-step adjustable suspension which comes with a travel of 170 mm. The wheel size Xpulse 200, just like other adventure bikes in the front Hero Xpulse  200 comes with 21 inches and 18 inches in the rear, and the tire size is 90/90-21 for the front and 120/80-18 for the rear. The Xpulse comes with a 13-litre fuel tank, being a 200cc motorbike, The Xpulse gives around  40-45 kilometre mileage per litre of petrol. The Xpulse comes with all modern-day features; it has an LCD instrument cluster,  the display is easy to read and it has all the information you need like fuel level, the gear position indicator,  the speed, and engine rpm.  It also has two trip computers, that tell you the distance travelled and the average speed that you are during that distance and it also comes with Bluetooth connectivity. So you can download the hero ride guide app and connect it and then it will tell you turn-by-turn directions. Apart from that Hero Xpulse 200 4v comes with a factory-fitted aluminium skid plate to protect your engine on hard rides and a toothed brake pedal for more control and grip in tough conditions.

The latest generation of Hero Xpulse 200 4v comes with a 199.6cc Oil-cooled 4 Stroke 4 Valve single cylinder OHC engine. The 4v in its name basically stands for four valves which are two more values than the older model.

The all-new 4-valve engine comes with 6% more power and 5% added torque, with significant improvement in power delivery in the mid-range and top end. Even at high speeds, its relaxed and stress-free performance with reduced vibrations across the range makes for a superior riding experience. Now the new Xpulse 4v engine puts out 19.1 PS  of max power at 8500 rpm and 17.35-newton meters of max torque at 6500 rpm and talking about the gearbox, as like the Bs6 model it has a 5-speed gearbox. The first two gears of the Xpulse 4v are really short and are more suited to off-road riding scenarios, and the third gears are ideal for city speeds while the fourth and fifth gears are tall and more suited to speeds out in the open highway. The best part of the new Xpulse 4v engine is that now it is a lot more refined. It’s sure it sounds a bit gruff the higher you climb up the powerband but it definitely feels less stressed. The Xpulse 4V gets a bigger 7-fin oil cooler ensuring that your bike never gets overheated on a long ride. .than the older Xpulse gets off the line a lot quicker and even at low speed, in-gear acceleration feels a lot livelier, picks up the pace out in the open highway and the motor doesn’t feel out of its element like before. 

Now the Xpulse v4 can hit speeds of around 80 to 90 kmph at around 6500 rpm and hold it there very comfortably 100-110 kmph also feels very manageable as well. and you would barely hear any vibrations around the 100-kilometre-per-hour mark. Hero Xpulse 200 4v gets a large 276mm Petal Disc up front and a 220mm Petal Disc at the back we get petal discs which offer better heat dissipation, and we also get single-channel abs as standard which means, abs is operational only on the front wheel.

Why you should consider buying the Hero Xpulse 200 4v

Hero Xpulse 200 4v has many more reasons for you to consider buying the Xpulse. if you love to explore the roads less travelled and get lost in another dimension altogether first is the design, proper dual sport stance with long-travel suspension larger front wheel upswept exhaust good quality bash plate raised handlebar, and a comfortable seat, and yes we also get a short windscreen to offer some wind protection while riding on the highways. The suspension is 37mm front forks and a rare mono-shock with 10-step adjustability. The best part is the long-travel suspension. We get 190mm of suspension travel up front and 170mm of suspension travel at the back. The Hero Xpulse has a massive higher ground clearance of 220 mm which is more than sufficient to clear the obstacles. It comes with a metal base plate which is of good quality and does serve the purpose,.the upswept exhaust which again allows you to break free without worrying about the exhaust taking a hit while you’re busy drifting and jumping all over the place. The headlamp is led and so is the tail lamp and the Hero Xpulse has quality handguards which really help. The Speedo console is also very well laid out and offers relevant info including average speed time and date. The Hero Xpulse 200 has all the important features like the handlebar which is perfectly set such that you can stand up and ride effortlessly aiding these are the open-teeth rider footpegs wherein you can remove the rubber mounts for more grip while doing extreme off-roading. Another practical point is the seat height which is set at 825 mm which is kind of manageable for shorter and average height riders because the bike gets a lightweight streamlined body and feels perfectly balanced at all speeds and the rugged swing arm that the bike gets really offers great confidence and support while riding through the trails. The best part is that it also offers turn-by-turn navigation which is outstanding for a bike at this price point.

The Hero Xpulse 200 4v is available in two different options Xpulse 200 4v and the Xpulse 200 4v Pro, The price of the Xpulse 200 4v ₹ 1,44,776 lakhs and price of the Xpulse 200 4v Pro is ₹ 1,52,151 in Delhi. Xpulse 200 4v also available in 3 different colour options is Matte Nexus Blue, Polestar Blue and Sports Red.
